Day 19: How to Challenge Something

What is one way to get better at something? Do it for just a few more minutes than you usually do. That’s why today:

Try chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo for one more minute than you did yesterday.

If we want to challenge something, hope is also essential. Hope is different from wishful thinking. Hope is the confidence that a different world is possible, that a different life for ourselves is possible.

Changemakers like Rosa Parks and Mahatma Gandhi had the type of hope that broke through what seemed like impossible realities. As they took action people around them began to see that their incredible vision was possible. This kind of hope lies in the undefeated belief in the ability of people to shape the world for the better. When we chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, we can see that same ability within ourselves.
