Day 4: Get Unstuck in 10 Days

One sign we’re stuck is if we find ourselves complaining about our situation instead of taking action to change it.

The Buddhist philosopher Daisaku Ikeda writes:

We often find that those who live in the city yearn for country life, while those who live in the country long for city life, or that those who are single dream of being married, while those who are married wish they were single again. That is a common tendency of the human heart.

The Wisdom for Creating Happiness and Peace, part 1, revised edition, p. 139

Of course, it’s really hard to stop complaining. But chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo allows us to see our inner strength, recognizing such strength makes us confident and hopeful.
