Day 6: Get Unstuck in 10 Days

You spend 5 minutes writing in a journal or take the long way home walking so you can get more exercise for the day. These small wins may seem insignificant compared to our big dreams of becoming a published author or making a sports team, but aren’t big dreams just an accumulation of small, daily wins?

Buddhist philosopher Daisaku Ikeda writes:

It’s also important to get in the habit of pushing yourselves an extra five minutes. When you think, “I cannot do anymore; I want to go out and have some fun,” that is the time to challenge yourselves to keep at it another five minutes. Those who persevere for an extra five minutes are truly admirable. Victory is theirs. This is one of life’s truths.
