Hannah’s Buddhability: Fighting Climate Change For My Family

Global catastrophes, like climate change, may seem beyond our control, but that’s not true. Believing we can affect change in our world beings with the struggle to believe in ourselves. And that’s why we chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.

Hannah Malus was in the 5th grade when Hurricane Katrina devastated the town she grew up in. Suddenly the climate crisis felt very heartbreakingly real. In college, Hannah’s practice of chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo gave her the courage to pursue her great dream, working for an organization that advocates for policies that address the climate crisis.

In this new video, Hannah shares, “Sometimes I think about the scope of the climate crisis and it seems really overwhelming, but when I chant it makes me feel really brave.”
